When the water comes into school it has to flow through the water meter which is fitted in the water pipe. If you want to know how much water you are using you could read the meter.
There is the same amount of water on earth as there was millions of years ago, that’s because of the water cycle.
70% of the earth is covered in water but only about 3% is available as fresh water.
Less than one hundredth of one percent of that fresh water is actually available for all the plants and animals including humans. Most of the fresh water is frozen in polar icecaps.

Report leaks and drips from your taps
Fix leaking taps
Turn off taps fully – no drips!
Check that urinals don’t flush throughout the holidays when there is no one in school
Order hippo bags if you toilets with large cistern to reduce the amount of water being flushed
Use a water butt to collect water for plant watering
Fit spray taps or push taps
