Glas Cymru has no shareholders and is operated solely for the benefit of our customers. We are planning to recruit interested people to become members of the company. We currently have more than 50 Members, but some are due to stand down soon and we are looking to appoint 15 - 20 new members.
A key role of the Members of Glas Cymru is to ensure that the business remains focused on its primary purpose of providing high quality water and sewerage services to the communities served by Welsh Water. In doing this, Members carry out an important corporate governance role, and for this reason membership is personal and Members are not appointed to represent any particular group or stakeholder interest.
Members are appointed by the Board under Glas Cymru’s published Membership Policy on the advice of an independent membership selection panel. A list of current Members can be accessed by clicking here.
A podcast has been produced which features two of our existing members who each explain more about the role of a Glas Cymru member. To view the podcast please click here.
